| | First day of summer XC. Warm up and then ran the state course. |
| | Pipeline. Hooray! Felt pretty good. A bit harder on the way back. I also had dance camp with some crazy core conditioning so that'll make me sore. |
| | Sore today from all of yesterdays core. Pretty light workout. Warm up in the glen, step ups, arm swings, cool down. More crazy core at dance. SUPER tired at the end of the day. |
| | JCC trail. I woke up sore in my abs and ribs but I had a very nice run. More core and strength at dance but I don't feel nearly as tired as I did yesterday. |
| | Grass lap warm up then 10 continuous hills followed by 4 state hills with 2 minute recovery. Another grass lap. Felt not so good. Guess I gotta work harder.
|
| | Liberty. Timed mile and if I remember it was 2 or 3 timed 800s.
|
| | Team hike in the morning. My legs were sore from yesterdays speed. Then we had our team barbeque and alumni run. My legs were not happy after the hike and everything but I finished.
|
| | Ran Parleys. My legs did not feel good. Very slow day for sure. |
| | New warm up loop. Then 4 hills on good ol bessie at regions course. Felt better than yesterday. Cool down was the regions course. |
| | Warm up. 10 strides. Cool down at liberty. |
| Race: |
Settlement Canyon Invite (2.8 Miles) 00:21:55, Place overall: 33 | | First race of the season. It was a good one but definitely room for improvement. I ran varsity. I focused on moving up the entire race and really tried passing people instead of sticking in my usual race groove. I out kicked two girls at the very end on top of those who I picked off during the race. I think I did well in terms of focusing on really racing but I know my time can definitely improve. Time to really kick into gear and push hard through the seasons workouts so I can bring my time down and help out the team more.

| | Monday Speed workout. About a 2 mile warmup I think. Then 10 strides. Workout was 2 one mile repeats and 1 800. I was in the 7 minute group. It was a tight group and I really just focused on keeping up with them. I did until about a quarter mile to go when I fell behind just a little bit. Ended 6:44. The second mile I felt worn down. The group was not as tight with people behind and ahead. Ended about 7:10. Can't remember my time for the 800. Cool down and dutch oven team breakfast after. |
| | Trail run. I woke up with really sore legs but it wasn't so bad running the trail. |
| | Pretty sure it was 8 but I can't remember. Worst workout ever. Legs were still sore. 2 mile warmup and then we did two 2 miles of tempo with I have no idea how much recovery. My entire body shut down on me. I couldn't pick my legs up and my arms wouldn't move and mentally I was beat. So I was 1 1/2 mins slow on the first one and 3 minutes slow on the second one. I was so mad. But I'm just gonna give it to myself that I didn't stop running or drop out cause it certainly crossed my mind many times. |
| | Warmup. 10 hills. Fireman. Cool down. |
| | It was a good day. Lighter workout--yay. Warm up. 2 progressive 300's (my favorite). And then the top group did 2 800's which I managed to hit the time just about right on. Mile cool down. |
